How Buildings Learn, by Stewart Brand

One of the best books about architecture as it exists in the fourth dimension of time.  Stewart Brand examines the changes of buildings, interior spaces, and cities as they evolve over time to become more funtional, durable, and appreciated.  This book is written with a keen insight into the physical world and is a refreshing look at architecture as it is rarely portrayed in slick publications.  A truly enjoyable book for the general interest reader, but deeply inspirational for anyone in the construction industry
